The spectacular natural environment draws visitors to vacation in Steamboat.  It is also an important consideration when people choose to live in Steamboat Springs and the Yampa Valley. We must protect the natural and visual qualities of our town for both visitors and residents. The West Steamboat annexation will occur on undeveloped land west of our current town boundaries. It is home to a variety of wildlife, and presents uninterrupted vistas to the west and north.

With the impacts that will come if this annexation moves forward, this land provides a backdrop for discussion on what residents value about Steamboat and how we should assure that a vibrant town co-exists with its natural environment.
