Public Forum about West Steamboat Annexation June 10th at library

Come to Bud Werner Memorial Library on Monday, June 10th at 7:00 pm. We will have an open public forum on issues and impacts of the proposed West Steamboat Annexation. Community Alliance of the Yampa Valley is sponsoring the forum. Both the groups in favor of and opposed to the annexation have been invited. The group in favor of annexation has declined to attend. We still anticipate a lively discussion and encourage everyone to attend to learn more about the annexation.

Sonja Macys “Mother Nature will Begin to Fight Back”

Sonja Macys, a member of City Council, wrote an article in the March 2019 issue of the Valley Voice. Part of the article describes the "742 units in the development pipeline." Here is a comment from the Steamboat Pilot on April 9, 2019 regarding the west Steamboat annexation made by Jason Lacy, President of Steamboat Springs City Council: Council President Jason Lacy asked the community to keep the annexation discussion positive. “It’s really important that the community engages with this in a respectful manner,”  Lacy said. “If we were to resort to personal insults and childish jabs — the sort of things that we sometimes see, especially on our national political scene — I think that would be a real shame. I think it’s really up to us as a community to agree to disagree in the right way. I think we can do that. I think everyone’s capable of doing that.”
